Entering into the Kingdom of the Heavens to Gain the Reward

Week 24 --- Reigning with Christ

Lord's Day --- Scripture Reading: Psa. 82:6; Matt. 24:40-41; Rom. 8:29; Eph. 4:13; 1 John 1:5; 4:8, 16

“Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13)

God is Light and Love

In addition to dealing with grace and truth, the apostle John also explained that God is light and love. John thus clarified what the apostle Paul had written years before in chapter 5 of the Epistle to the Ephesians.

The Lord Jesus is God incarnated and has passed through death and resurrection. Now He is the Spirit of reality and is in us. Praise the Lord! Today we have God’s life and nature; we have the divine light and love. We are children of God because we have God’s life, which comes from the life-giving Spirit. The life we have received from God expresses love because God is love (1 John 4:8, 16). No one can see life, but we can feel love. Thus, when we take life to all, we take love to all.

God goal is that we be filled with His life and nature. Because we have God’s life, we have the divine light and love. This has all been given to us, but God wants us to receive more light and life. We aspire to appreciate the word of God more and more. John himself said at the beginning of his gospel that life was in Him—in the Word, which is Christ—and that the life was the light of men.

We must be in the light in order to realize when our soul-life is being manifested and cast it into the fire of the Spirit. If we do this, we will grow in life, and one day we will receive a better reward.

God expects that on the way from our regeneration until His second coming we will continually deny our soul-life and experience the Lord’s purifying, just as gold is refined by fire. Hallelujah! If we mature we will be the same as Christ when we come to the end of the course; we will be fully conformed to His image; we will have reached the measure of the stature of His fullness (Eph. 4:13). In Romans 8 the apostle Paul says that we will be conformed to the image of Christ in order to obtain the expression of the glory of God (v. 29). This is our goal.

God wants us to sit with Him on the throne. As long as you remain in the condition of the church in Philadelphia, the church of brotherly love, where there is life, you will be an overcomer. May we all be raptured, may we be overcomers to reign with Christ. Jesus is Lord!
